Jeff Dunham and Audrey Celebrate Sons

Jeff Dunham and his wife Audrey have a lot to celebrate this fall — and kicked it off Saturday with a teddy bear picnic.

The couple’s upcoming arrivals were fêted at a shower hosted by Audrey’s mother at their Los Angeles home, ahead of Thursday’s Jeff Dunham: Unhinged in Hollywood premiere.

“Seeing all the decorations that my mom made — there was so much creativity!” Audrey, a certified nutrition specialist and fitness trainer.

“Most of all, I was so honored that so many friends and family got on planes and drove long distances to be part of the day. It was the best baby shower a girl could ever ask for because of all the wonderful people who made such an effort to be there. It warms my heart that these little boys are already so loved by so many.”

The ladies enjoyed “baby bites” of lemongrass chicken satay, chili-crab-cucumber canapés and herb Mediterranean shrimp at the house, while the men hopped in a Hummer limo for a ride to lunch — but not before the comedian opened one special gift.

“My friend said, ‘Here Jeff, this one’s more for you,’ ” Jeff, 53, says about unwrapping a pair of Cowboys bodysuits. “Growing up in Dallas, my father didn’t pay attention to any sports except football, so I became an avid Cowboy fan. That was perfect!”

Guests, including Dunham’s daughters from his previous marriage, enjoyed slices of bear-topped cake monogrammed with “J”s — but that’s the biggest hint the Dunhams will give about what they’re calling their sons, expected to arrive in late October. “Their names are chosen, but we’re keeping them under wraps for now,” Jeff explains.

Ready to get back to diaper duty, the comedian and ventriloquist tells PEOPLE he’s especially looking forward to seeing Audrey, 35, in her new role as mom.

“When my girls were growing up I was on the road a lot, but I always made it a point to never miss any big dates — I was always home for birthdays, holidays. This time around we have the tour bus, so we’re having the cribs built in and everyone’s coming along,” he says.
“It’s a different perspective, being later in life and able to go through this again. Audrey has already found such passion in life with her work, yet this is a completely different path that I know that she’s going to embrace like nothing else. I really wanted for her to be able to experience parenthood.”

After marrying in 2012, “we went through a couple speedbumps with miscarriages,” Jeff reveals. “They’re difficult — we have such a better appreciation about it and sensitivity to it now.”

This past March, the couple discovered they were expecting not one, but two babies.
“We’ll never forgot the doctor — he got this look on his face, cocked his head sideways and with an impish grin on his face goes, ‘Two.’ We were like, ‘Whatttt?!’ Completely unexpected,” the comedian recalls.

After announcing the pregnancy in May, the Dunhams are now in the home stretch — though it sounds as though the boys are making themselves quite comfortable in there.
“The kids think that her ribs are a jungle gym, but she’s a trouper,” Jeff says. Adds Audrey, “Now we just need to do all that we can to keep them from being spoiled. We’ve definitely got our work cut out for us!”

Filmed at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, Jeff Dunham: Unhinged in Hollywood airs Thursday at 8 p.m. on NBC. Tickets for Dunham’s upcoming national tour go on sale Friday.

Miss America 2016 : Jamie Lynn Macchia

Miss America 2016
Miss America 2016
The names were called out one by one, until the 15th name was called, and it wasn't that of Jamie Lynn Macchia.

Macchia was our Miss New York, but won't be our Miss America 2016, judges for the 95th annual pageant and scholarship competition declared Sunday night in Atlantic City.
Macchia's long journey to the stage swiftly came to a close as Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell was announced the next woman to wear the crown.

Macchia, the 23-year-old Eltingville native, will return to Staten Island defeated but still proud of her accomplishments, she said.

"I've given this Miss America experience everything I have," Macchia wrote on her Instagram. "I've seen my strength, poise, maturity, drive, and confidence grow before my own eyes. I've done things I've only ever dreamed of doing and have definitely surprised myself along the way."

Many of the finalists were from the southern states — as were the fans from all over the country who arrived with signs and high hopes for their hometown contestants. Talents ranged from Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin's interpretive dance to the Matrix theme song to a touching monologue from Miss Colorado Kelley Johnson.

Aside from the competition, the presence of head judge and Former Miss America, Vanessa Williams was arguably the evening's most significant event.

Williams was not only the first African-American woman to be crowned Miss America in 1983, she also went on to arguably be the most successful winner in the pageant's history.
But in 1984, 10 months into her reign, the Emmy, Grammy and Tony nominee was asked to resign or be stripped of her title after nude photos of her leaked in Penthouse Magazine.
At the beginning of the show, Sam Haskell, the Miss America Organization's Executive Chairman and CEO said even though none of the members of the organization were responsible for the decision in 1984, he wanted to personally apologize. Williams accepted the apology.

Though Macchia didn't make it into the top 15, she has come a long way from her Eltingville roots. Beginning as a 17-year-old at Staten Island Technical High School, she tried unsuccessfully for seven years in pageants at the local level.

Each year, she crept closer and closer to victory. In May 2014, she competed in the 2014 Miss New York pageant and named was second runner-up to winner Kira Kazantsev, who went on to win Miss America this year.

Then, in June, Jamie took the New York title at the St. George Theatre. It would lead her to the stage in Atlantic City Sunday night.

"You could see the potential with the girl," said Jim Smith, executive director of the Miss Staten Island Pageant. "The only thing she needed was maturity, and you can't give a 17-year-old girl maturity, you have to earn it. But she always believed in herself."

Throughout the preliminary rounds, Macchia didn't win in either her talent or swim and evening gown competitions. But the interview component is kept private, and can often count for the most among judges, Smith said, adding that Macchia's interview answers are her strong suit.

Smith said Macchia's platform was another strong point: "Inspiring Action Against Pediatric Cancer." Macchia chose this work in honor of a childhood friend, Dominic, who fought but ultimately lost his battle with leukemia.

The day before, Macchia was calm and confident of her work so far, she said. In a social media post, she said she felt peaceful, not stressed.

Macchia thanked her fans and family for all the support along the way. She said with how much she's accomplished as Miss New York so far, she's "already won."

"I have already achieved my dream of performing on the Miss America stage," she said. "I have already used my powerful voice to speak out for pediatric cancer patients and their families. I have already represented what I consider to be the greatest state in the nation."

Grandparents' Day 2015 Celebs' Touching Quotes on Grandparents

Grandparents' Day 2015
Grandparents' Day 2015

United States will celebrate Grandparents' Day 2015 on Sunday, 13 September. While in today's age and time, it is quite difficult to see youngsters spending time with their grandparents, there are still quite a few people, who adore and love them. The day has been celebrated since 1978, when the then-President Jimmy Carter signed the proclamation designating the first Sunday of September after Labor Day as the National Grandparents' Day.

We have compiled some of the most touching and loving quotes from some of our favourite celebrities about their grandparents.

Barack Obama was raised by his grandparents and he has always been very vocal in his appreciation for the impact they had on him; especially about his grandmother. He says, "She's the one who taught me about hard work. She's the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself, so that I could have a better life. She poured everything she had into me."

Rihanna, who was very close with her grandmother Dolly, who passed away in 2013, said this about her in an interview with Oprah. " She (My grandmother) taught me a lot about forgiveness, loving my enemies ... spirituality, faith, strength as a woman ... The one thing she wants me to do is marry someone who loves me more than I love them..

" In commemoration of her grandmother's first death anniversary, Rihanna posted on Instagram, ".... I can still remember your laugh, and I miss it, I miss the sound of your voice, your beautiful hands, the way you danced and got so happy when you heard music, i miss doing your makeup and taking your pictures, I miss the way you looked right at me, and I miss looking back at you, that proud look on your face! Never did I think it could be this soon, but I'm happy you're in Heaven, laughing and dancing with the Angels! Dolly you are my precious Angel, I love you beyond what words can describe! I just miss you Gran Gran! #Dolly #FirstAnniversary" Grandparents' Day 2015

Justin Bieber's mother, who was a young single mom when she had him, got a lot help from her parents Bruce and Diane Dale in raising him. And even through all the negative press and his ridiculous scandals, grandmother Diane has been a rock. She says, "It's going to happen anyways. It doesn't matter who you are and a lot of it isn't even in true... He's 19 and he's got a camera shoved in his face and lots of money. What do you want?" She however knows about all his antics: "I think if [moviegoers] see Justin the way I see Justin, they'll accept him—warts and all—and see that he's not as bad as the press makes him out to be sometimes, and he's not as innocent as he tries to paint himself sometimes," Chu said. "He's a troublemaker. It's what he is and he's charming as hell, but that's who he is and that's what makes him Justin Bieber."

Katy Perry, the world-renowned pop-star has credited her grandmother Ann Hudson as the person who keeps her grounded. "My grandmother is in charge of my morals..I do anything wrong, she'll come after me." The "Roar" singer also takes her as plus one to many entertainment events.

Miley Cyrus' grandmother Loretta Finley is a loving presence in the "Wrecking Ball" singer's life. The twerking expert even has a tattoo of her grandmother's portrait, and occasionally takes her on tours and premieres with her. During a recent interview at "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Cyrus said, "My grandma is fresh. She's always in jumpsuits, like terry cloth jumpsuits ... I think for a grandma it's pretty cool. Snoop wears 'em. They actually have very similar style".

New Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

New Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
New Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

September 10, 2015) Brighton, East Sussex -- About one-third of all Americans suffer from high blood pressure, which is a chronic disease linked to a number of other dangerous health conditions.

In addition to prescribed treatment and practicing a healthy lifestyle, consistent monitoring of the condition is recommended in order to ensure that it does not get out of control. As a result, many patients invest in home blood pressure monitor to increase their awareness of the condition when they are not in the presence of a doctor. However, some wrist blood pressure monitors are noisy and uncomfortable, features which can annoy patients and help to worsen their conditions.

The new wrist blood pressure monitor from Just-Brill has a low-noise air pump which allows the strap to inflate comfortably around the wrist. In addition, the device has a number of features that are designed to increase its efficacy and accuracy.

It has a large LCD and fonts to enhance readability and takes systolic, diastolic and pulse readings. The device can also record up to 60 readings with time and date stamp and has an automatic shutdown feature that helps to preserve battery life.

A number of Amazon shoppers have commented on the bp machine being among the quietest they have ever used, expressing satisfaction. “This digital blood pressure machine comes with a super low noise air pump which inflates the strap comfortably around your wrist. This is quite a handy blood pressure machine, it is small enough to take anywhere with you.It works amazing and is simple to use,” said I Love Bulldogs, a verified Amazon reviewer.

An astronaut controlled a robot

An astronaut controlled a robot

An astronaut has successfully controlled a robot on Earth with micrometer precision, despite being 400km up and travelling at speeds of 28,800km/h.

Andreas Mogensen, the first Dane in space, used a feedback system to "feel" what he was doing 400km away. He commanded the Interact Centaur rover in real-time, using a joystick to drive it around before taking control of its robotic arm to place a peg into a hole on a circuit board.

The experiment was designed to replicate connecting a wire on another planet. With a tolerance of just 150 micrometers -- or less than one sixth of a millimetre -- it required precision and delicacy from both robot and human operator.

The Interact Centaur rover
ESA/Telerobotics
The first attempt at the experiment took 45 minutes, but a second run took only 10 minutes. During the second experiment Mogensen was able to "touch" the peg and sense how it felt using force-reflective technology in the joystick. Video streams captured by the robot gave him an overall view of his surroundings.

The main challenge of the experiment was the lag between a signal being sent and the robot acting on it. Signals sent by Mogensen travelled approximately 90,000km -- from the International Space Station, to Houston, Texas, on to the European Space Agency's research and technology centre centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands and then back again. This results in a 850-millisecond delay.

Similar technology could one day be used by astronauts on Mars, allowing them to control robots from great distances with absolute precision.

Blake Shelton & Rihanna

Blake Shelton & Rihanna
Blake Shelton &  Rihanna

If Blake Shelton knows one thing, it’s how to win ‘The Voice.’ After four wins, he must have some sort of strategy, right? Wrong. We  got the change to exclusively chat with the judge, 39, about this season, and yes, about Rihanna.

When Rihanna signed on to The Voice as this season’s key advisor, we knew it’d be a good thing — and we weren’t the only one excited. Blake Shelton chatted with us all about how great she was on the show, and of course, how great she was to look at. Hey, we can’t argue that!

“Rihanna is hot! She was so great and so funny, so honest which is— she was really good at that. She really took it seriously and was very good at the job,” Blake told us exclusively before season nine of The Voice kicked off. Well that’s a good thing!

He also revealed that as for his own team, he actually has big dreams for mentors. While the judge do pick their own team mentor, and we’re sure he’s thrilled with his friend, Brad Paisley, to come on, he did have others in mind. “You shoot for the moon and you don’t get them,” he told us. “I threw out Cher’s name one time, and she actually came and did it.  I haven’t been able to get Dolly [Parton] yet though.  Do you think she’d ever do it?  It’d be cool.”

As for his own life, Blake had a huge star mentor him as a younger man — country star, Trace Adkins. “He’s a grumpy old bastard, but he was always that guy for me who would sit me down and go “Listen, boy,” and get onto me about stuff, because especially back in the day, I was way worse than I am now,” Blake shared. “He was about the only guy I would listen to him because I was intimidated by him. Looking back, I’m so glad he was around for me.”

We had to ask who he wishes could be his mentor, just because we knew we’d laugh at the answer. And that, we did. “Who’s that girl in the Carl’s Jr commercials?  You know who I’m talking about?” he asked us. Maybe Ronda Rousey? We’re not quite sure, but either was he. “I don’t know, George Strait would have been my guy.  I want George Strait to coach me… and that girl from the Carl’s Jr. commercials.”

Ellie Goulding's 'Love Me Like You Do'

Ellie Goulding's 'Love Me Like You Do'
Ellie Goulding's  'Love Me Like You Do'

Ellie Goulding's new album is coming, and it's going to be heartbreaking but uplifting.

The follow-up to 2012's Halcyon is expected to land later this year, with the singer claiming it has an "end-of-summer feeling".

"It's summery. It's pop-y and it's got a summer feeling, but it's more of an end-of-summer feeling. It's kind of heartbreaking at times, but it's also uplifting," Ellie told Refinery29.

"I have a song on the album that is called 'Two Years'. It's about two years ago, which is before I met my boyfriend," she added, referring to McBusted star Dougie Poynter.

"I'm really curious about him. He's my boyfriend, so I'll write about him and his past and the things he's been through. It's pretty amazing stuff and he's a pretty incredible person. It's so easy to write about because there's so many interesting things about him."

Ellie also spoke about how she'd struggled with success and being away from home, before adding she's not in trouble anymore.

"I went through a phase of being on tour and having a really hard time and not being home, and even just struggling with having a number one song," she explained.

"That was a time when I couldn't deal with anything. I was drinking, and I was not really myself. It's only when you come out of that phase you realise you were in trouble.

"Now that I'm not in trouble, it makes it more obvious just how close I was to losing it all. Luckily I never got to that point."

Ellie Goulding will take to the stage for the Apple Music Festival later this month, where she joins a line-up including Take That, Mumford & Sons, One Direction and Little Mix.
