Organisers of the pop festival have announced a Brit-heavy lineup that includes Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, the Proclaimers and Sir Tom Jones
Kasabian and Calvin Harris are sharing headlining honours at this year’s V Festival.
The Scottish DJ and the Leicester rockers will be joined on the bill by acts including Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Stereophonics and Ella Henderson.
Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, said: “V is for victory, V is for voodoo, V is for vacuum cloud, V is for very, very, very, very excited. See you in the fields!”
Also appearing at the festival – which takes place at two sites, Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire – are the Proclaimers, Sir Tom Jones and Grandmaster Flash.
Festival director Simon Moran said: “We wanted to champion British talent at this year’s festival and with the likes of Calvin and Kasabian leading the way we don’t think it’ll disappoint. The eclectic mix of established artists and rising stars, with a few more in the pipeline, means that once again there is something for everyone at V Festival.”
The festival is held over the weekend of 22-23 August, with tickets going on sale at 9am on 6 March.
