Scott Eastwood as Swift's leading man

Scott Eastwood as Swift's leading man
Scott Eastwood as Swift's leading man
Taylor Swift's music video for her latest single "Wildest Dreams" could be summed up in one word: sexy.

The "Bad Blood" singer, who completed the L.A. leg of her 1989 world tour on Wednesday night, premiered the fifth music video from her record-breaking album on Sunday during the pre-show of the MTV Video Music Awards.

Set in Africa (and the golden age of Hollywood cinema) – Swift took "let's get out of this town" quite literally – the video notably drew inspiration from The Notebook, as the singer confirmed on a fan's post earlier this week. And even better: Scott Eastwood stars as Swift's leading man, which not only caused us to uncontrollably swoon every few seconds, but is seriously making us consider starting a petition to have Eastwood star (or at least make a cameo) in all music videos.

The singer plays a Hollywood starlet who has fallen for her sexy costar as they film and promote a movie together.

Swift took to Instagram on Saturday to share her excitement for the premiere.

“Say you'll remember me/ Standing in a nice dress/ Staring at the sunset, babe," she captioned the shot of them looking absolutely picturesque in vintage clothing.

Eastwood returned the favor on Instagram, posting the same picture with the caption,

"What an amazing time working with @taylorswift Not only is she a rockstar. But someone I am proud to call a friend. She is a great person and those are hard to find in your life. When you do….Hold tight. #WildestDreamsMusicVideo"

Swift also decided to donate all proceeds of the video to the animal conservation efforts of the African Parks Foundation of America

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5
A lighter weekend at the international box office, which nevertheless saw new benchmarks for Terminator: Genisys and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the Top 10 studio pictures were down about 11% from last frame. Factoring in this week’s local-language heavy-hitters out of China and Korea, there’s a 9% dip. The new Asian films that made the Top 10 in the current frame included The Hundred Regiments Offensive ($16.2M) and The Dead End ($14M) out of China.

Last year at this time, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes had awakened in China with a total $51.2M overseas. It was followed by Lucy’s added $31.2M and Guardians Of The Galaxy’s $19.7M. The top three movies this session, Terminator: Genisys, The Hundred Regiments Offensive and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation together grossed just over the DOTPOTA take from last year and repped a 46% drop across the top trio.

Next weekend, EuropaCorp’s The Transporter Refueled stakes out the UK, Germany and Spain among others, but won’t get to France until September 9. The last movie in the franchise, The Transporter 3, starred Jason Statham in 2008. This one, directed by Camille Delamarre, stars Ed Skrein (Ill Manors, the upcoming Deadpool) in Statham’s Frank Martin role. Delamarre edited the last film, along with other Europa titles Colombiana and Taken 2. Transporter 3 performed best offshore in both Germany and France with a total $77M internationally, more than double the domestic take.

Elsewhere, Meryl Streep-starrer Ricki And The Flash will expand to some major markets including France, the UK, Germany, Brazil and Korea. Hitman: Agent 47 and Trainwreck travel to Russia; No Escape adds the UK and France; The Man From U.N.C.L.E. heads to Italy, Brazil and Mexico; and Straight Outta Compton (performing well in key markets this session) goes Down Under. Mission: Impossible is revving up for China, but that release won’t factor next weekend as the movie goes out on Tuesday, September 8.
China updated below the original post. Actuals tomorrow.

As summer draws to a close in many markets, and with no major new wide releases, this was destined to be a somewhat slower weekend at the international box office. But milestones continue to be passed with good news again for Paramount and Skydance. After opening in China last Sunday, Terminator: Genisys made a big return to the offshore charts, landing at No. 1 for the second weekend in a row. With $23.6M from 25 markets total this frame, the overseas cume is now $320.1M. China’s portion of that is $23.4M this session with $82.8M total after eight days. Also crossing the $300M mark offshore, Par/Skydance’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation tallied up a $15.3M weekend from 64 territories. The international cume on the Tom Cruise thriller is $309M — and it’s still got China to come. M:I 5 is not expected to be No. 2 overall, however, as that spot looks to belong to Chinese historical war epic The Hundred Regiments Offensive. Also notable, Straight Outta Compton had impressive No. 1 starts in the UK and Germany, helped along in part by the filmmakers and cast traveling to the makets for big local events.

TERMINATOR: GENISYS
With a global cume through Sunday of $409.5M, the latest pic in the Terminator franchise is benefitting from a strong China run. The first film import allowed into the Middle Kingdom after the summer blackout, it now has an $82.8M cume there. The weekend was worth $23.6M in total with $23.4M from China. There, it’s currently running 12% ahead of Iron Man 3 and 10% ahead of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies over the same number of days. The international take is now $320.1M.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – ROGUE NATION
Also crossing $300M for Paramount and Skydance, Tom Cruise’s latest winged its way to a $309M cume at the international box office this frame. The weekend saw $15.3M from 64 territories with China still to bow on September 8. Openings this session included a No. 1 start in Greece with $279K at 65 locations. Japan held with $2.3M in the 4th frame, 24% below last week and No. 3 in the market behind Jurassic World and Ted 2. The cume there is now $31.9M. M:I5 is still No. 1 in France with a cume of $16.5M; Brazil also held the top spot with a total $7.9M. In Korea, the total is now $41.1M after five frames and the UK has picked up $29M to date, coming in down just 26% from last weekend. Other cumes include Germany ($11.1M) and Italy ($4M). The global haul is now $479.4M.

MINIONS
Minions, which marched past $1B last week, was given a hearty buongiorno in Italy where it bowed No. 1 with a huge $8.5M to become the biggest opening weekend for an animated film ever in that market where it has a 77% share. Doing the bidding for Universal and Illumination, the little yellow henchmen added a total estimate of $14.9M in 60 territories. That brings the cume overseas to $694.1M. Combined with the U.S. total of $324.8M, the worldwide cume is $1.02B. In other milestones, Minions overtook Ice Age: Dawn Of Dinosaurs’ $690M yesterday to become the 3rd-highest-grossing animated film of all time internationally. There are still three territories to go: Turkey (September 4), China (September 13) and Greece (September 24).

HITMAN: AGENT 47
In its 2nd offshore frame, Hitman: Agent 47 picked off $13.1M on 5,157 screens in 60 markets. That brings the international cume to $25M. Opening in 38 more plays across Europe and Latin America this frame, the Fox actioner was No. 2 in France with $1.9M; No. 3 in the UK with $1.4M; and No. 1 in Colombia where it opened 123% above The Bourne Legacy. The Malaysia hold was strong at No. 1 for a $2.24M cume that’s 72% bigger than the lifetime of The Equalizer. Thailand ($1.3M) and Hong Kong ($1.24M) also held well. Next weekend Rupert Friend takes on Russia, Korea, and Argentina among others.

INSIDE OUT
The Disney/Pixar pleaser crossed $700M during the past week worldwide and added Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Singapore to the toon’s territories this frame. With $10.9M more from international play, its global total is now $715.63M after 11 weekends. The Scandinavian territories got off to a great start with Denmark posting the highest ever non-sequel opening for a Pixar release. It also grabbed the No. 1 slot, coming in above the debut of local title Summer Of 92 about the underdog Euro Cup champs of 23 years ago. Sweden opened above Pete Docter’s acclaimed Up. Singapore brought the 2nd biggest Disney/Pixar animated opening weekend of all-time. Elsewhere, the holds continue to be joyful: France (-5%), Australia (-13%), UK (-18%), Japan (-24%), Hong Kong (-36%), Korea (-39%), Thailand (-38%). Italy is next for Riley and friends on September 16, followed by Germany on October 1 and the China start which is not yet dated.

TED 2
This frame put Universal’s Ted 2 above $100M internationally. Notably, the Seth MacFarlane comedy bowed in Japan which was the original film’s 2nd strongest offshore play. It grossed $4.7M at No. 2 (behind Universal’s own Jurassic World) and 9% above Ted. In Mexico, it was No. 1 with $1.8M. The total weekend dowry is $9.3M in 45 territories for a $109M cume. Combined with the domestic number, Ted 2 is at $190.2M global. Indonesia is the next and final release on September 9.

FANTASTIC FOUR
Approaching $100M internationally, Fantastic Four added $6.8M for a $93.5M offshore cume to date. In 65 markets, it’s showing some good holds including in Venezuela where it’s No. 1 with $7M. Mexico and the UK are still tops with $10.3M and $9.4M respectively. Italy and Japan are still to come.

VACATION
As more summer vacations wrap up this weekend, Warner Bros’ reboot of the 80s franchise picked up a further $6.65M from 5,023 screens in 49 markets. That takes the international cume to $26.5M. A No. 1 opening in Russia was worth $1.8M, topping We’re The Millers by 14%. In holdover cumes, the Ed Helms-led comedy is as follows: Australia ($2.35M); France ($1.4M); the UK ($2.1M); Spain ($1.4M); and Germany ($1.2M). Mexico’s 3rd frame added $406K to establish a cume of $4M and bring the movie above the lifetimes of We’re The Millers and both Horrible Bosses films. Brazil is up next on September 10.

Huawei Honor 7 : Lightning-fast fingerprint scanner

Lightning fast fingerprint scanner
Lightning fast fingerprint scanner

Arguably the best fingerprint scanner on the market, and the best thing about the Honor 7, the sensor just below the camera on the back is so quick and accurate you think it’s broken.

It’s easy to hit with your index finger and unlocks the phone in under 0.5 seconds. A simple tap is enough – no long pressing and hoping. It’s even faster and more accurate than Apple’s much vaunted Touch ID on the iPhone.

Unfortunately, like the OnePlus 2, the Honor 7’s fingerprint sensor can’t be used in third-party apps such as Evernote or LastPass. Android 6 Marshmallow will introduce native fingerprint support into Android and hopefully expand support for the Honor 7 and other smartphones’ fingerprint sensors, beyond Samsung’s.

The brief for Huawei’s Honor 7 is straightforward: make a solid smartphone that don’t break the bank.

It doesn’t pretend to be a “flagship killer”, and isn’t, but in a market that is full of good offerings for under £250, including the new OnePlus 2 and third-generation Moto G, can the, arguably, fastest fingerprint scanner in the business make it stand out?

The Honor 7 has a simple, relatively attractive design. The body is metal, although it has a coating on it that gives it a premium plastic-like feel. The front is all glass with a selfie cam and front-facing flash. The rear has a camera that sticks out and a fingerprint scanner below – it’s all quite understated.

Build quality is just above average: the body flexes when twisted and the plastic top and bottom corners feel like they will be marked quite easily if dropped.

The 5.2in full HD screen looks remarkably crisp and good, but side-by-side with the quad HD screens with higher pixel densities such as the 5.1in screen of the Galaxy S6 it is noticeably less dense.

The Honor 7 compares favourably to the OnePlus 2, which has a similar 1080p screen.

At 8.5mm the phone is relatively thin and light for the mid-range price. Compared to the OnePlus 2 for instance, it is 1.35mm thinner and 18g lighter.

Beyond the standard power and volume buttons, the Honor 7 also has an extra customisable button. A short press, long press and double press can all be tied to custom actions such as launching the camera or used to launch an app such as Twitter or Facebook. It works well, but gets pressed quite a lot by accident as it is opposite the power and volume buttons.

Woman's Finger Length & Acne Vulgaris

Woman's Finger Length & Acne Vulgaris
Photo: Twitter

What can the length of a woman’s fingers tell us about their susceptibility to acne vulgaris (AV)? Plenty, it turns out, according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology. The study suggests that a more masculine second-to-fourth digit (2D:4D) ratio may predict sebum levels and, therefore, the potential for developing AV.

It is well-established that the 2D:4D ratio is a record of how much exposure people had to androgens, such as testosterone, in the womb. Put simply, the longer the ring finger is compared to the index finger, the more masculine traits an individual may display.

The ratio has been used in research regarding human sexuality, aggression, and physical prowess, among others. Clinical research has suggested that lower sperm counts and increased risk for heart disease and obesity in males is associated with high digit ratio. Low digit ratio, however, is associated with increased rate of ADHD and autism in males, and a reduced risk of eating disorders in both men and women.

Development of the digits and the sebaceous glands both occur during the same gestational period; therefore, the association between the 2D:4D ratios and AV may result from the effects of the prenatal endocrine environment on the sebaceous glands. This isn’t the first study to look at the relationship between 2D:4D ratios and acne.

In fact, the same authors established the connection in a 2014 study in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. The older study found that 2D:4D ratios of female patients with AV were significantly lower than healthy females in both hands, but found no significant difference between male acne cases and controls. Acne severity was positively correlated with the left 2D:4D ratios and mean 2D:4D ratio, whereas the duration of acne was negatively correlated with the right 2D:4D ratios in females.

The newer study followed up on this work to help determine why this connection exists. The study analyzed 215 females with AV and 92 healthy controls. Finger-length measurements were made using a digital Vernier caliper, and the sebum levels of five facial areas were measured. Acne severity was assessed using the International Consensus Conference on Acne Classification System.

The 2D:4D ratios of the patients with AV were significantly lower than those of the controls, for both hands. While acne severity was positively correlated with skin sebum levels, no correlation between acne severity and 2D:4D ratios was observed.

Potential future areas of study include whether there are any corresponding predictors of male AV. Yet to be studied is the impact of the finger ration on treatment and length of time with the condition.

Top Health App removed from App Store

Top Health App removed from App Store
Top Health App removed from App Store
One of the highest grossing health apps, Instant Blood Pressure Monitor, has finally been taken out of the App Store. If you keep up with iMedicalApps, you’re well aware of the issues we had with the app.

The Instant Blood Pressure Monitor app promised to measure your blood pressure using your iPhone’s microphone pressed up against your heart, and your finger on the camera. The app had already been removed from the Google Play store a few months ago.

We’ve received emails and complaints from several academics and physicians who were concerned how this app was being utilized.

Initially, the app didn’t even have a disclaimer in it when it was launched. Only when we reached out to the developers and told them of our concerns did the disclaimers of how the app should only be used for “recreational” purposes come up.

But even with these disclaimers the app was one of the top 5 grossing health apps in the US App Store for several months, garnering thousands of reviews from users who stated how they were using the app for actual blood pressure recordings — terrifying.

Our issue with the development team, Auralife, was never with the “novel” way the app purported to measure blood pressure. Rather, it was the lack of transparency and lack of granular data they provided — critical if you create something different like this.

Compare them to Opternative, a digital health product that has come up with a novel way to do prescription eye exams. They use a smartphone and a laptop to deliver a prescription for your glasses and contacts from your home.

They registered their product with the FDA and backed it up with an IRB clinical trial. Opternative still has detractors who are critical of their overall methods, but at least they are going through the right channels.

Opternative didn’t go for the easy buck. Rather, they had a novel idea, and knew if they wanted to make it legitimate they had to approach things the right way.
That’s something the developers of Instant Blood Pressure app didn’t do.

Baby Car & UV and UVB Rays

August 28, 2015 Sanford, FL -- While not all children will get sunburned easily, all are susceptible to developing skin cancer, skin aging and sun-related ailments.

The summer months produce the harshest heat and a greater intensity of UVB rays. These rays are more skin penetrating than other UV rays.

A study by American Academy of Pediatrics found that although they make up less than 0.5% of sunlight that reaches the Earth’s surface, they are responsible for most acute and chronic sun-related skin conditions including sunburns. The summer heat and intensity is also able to cause a heat stroke or sunburn.

Monika’s Marketplace’s car shade for babies is made of  material able to block 97% of harmful UV rays such as UVB as opposed to the mesh variety. From the test by UV Meter,The shade is said to also reduce the heat felt by the child .

It is supplied in pairs so both windows can be fitted with a shade, providing complete protection. The innovative sun shades stick to the window due to static electricity and is believed to hold tighter in the sun.

“These shades is a little bit smaller than the window, so I do feel the difference for the areas covered by shades and the areas without shades, I was sitting inside the car for half an hour, half of my arm is hot because of the penetrating sun, while the other half is fine due to the shade had blocked sunshine,” said Lai, a verified Amazon customer.

The car shade for babies can be purchased on Amazon. Monikas Marketplace are manufactures of baby products such as the car shade for babies and sesame street books as well as home and garden supplies inclusive of garden gloves and microwave plates.

Idol Katie Price

Katie Price : Plastic Surgery
Katie Price : Plastic Surgery

Um? British mom and daughter duo Georgia Clarke and Kayla Morris have spent $86,000 on matching plastic surgery procedures to look like their idol Katie Price. In an interview with New Dog Media, Morris, 20, reveals just how she and her mother are able to afford all the surgery.

“When I was 17 I started stripping and then three or four months into that I met a sugar daddy and he gives me a set amount each week,” Kayla explained of how they’re able to afford almost $100,000 worth of procedures.

“We’re really close. We do everything together,” Morris added of her mother, 38, who has supported her desire to get breast implants since she was 11.

“I was glad [she wanted to get plastic surgery] because I wanted her to be like that kind of person,” Clarke said. She’s also thankful that her daughter is willing to help her pay for her own work.
“I don’t mind Kayla having a sugar daddy or stripping to pay for plastic surgery because we’re living the dream…we’re happy,” her mom adds. “I’m lucky to have a daughter like Kayla…that pays for my surgeries…I’m so proud of her.”

95th Women's Equality Day ?

95th Women's Equality Day ?
95th Women's Equality Day ?

Today is Women’s Equality Day, marking the 95th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. While that—and the progress we’ve made over the past century—is certainly something to celebrate, it’s still a bit premature to start calling things “equal.”

Here, five sobering facts about women’s equality, or lack thereof, to mark the occasion.

1. Women make up just 20% of the Senate and 19% of Congress
Being granted the right to vote was the defining victory of the women’s suffrage movement, but women are still fighting to fully realize the promises made to them nearly a century ago.
The share of female U.S. senators has grown from 2% in 1965 to 20% today, according to the Pew Research Center. And things aren’t looking much better elsewhere in politics: Women currently represent only 19.3% of the U.S. House of Representatives and 24% of state legislatures.
“Since 1920, women have sort of been fighting to make the vote real,” says Heidi Hartmann, the founder and president of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR). “When women only make up 20% in the senate and a little less in the house, and we haven’t had very many women governors, and there’s no state legislature where women are the majority…you wouldn’t really feel that all of what women of the era expected from the women’s vote has come to pass.”

2. Women account for only 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs
Hartmann believes that the dearth of women in positions of political power is directly related to the wage gap and their lack of power in the business world. A political system where candidates often need to be independently wealthy and well connected to win elections favors those with higher salaries, which are more often enjoyed by men, she says.
Within Fortune 500 companies, women hold just 16.9% of board seats and 5.2% of CEO positions, according to the Pew Research Center. Why are more women in top positions in politics than they are in business? “It might be in some ways that access to political office has been a little bit easier than navigating that corporate pipeline,” says Kim Parker, director of social trends research at Pew. “Not that it has been easy, but there are more access points for women to get into politics.”

3. The wage gap won’t close until 2058
The wage gap between men and women has been slowly closing through the last century, yet progress seems to have stalled. Between 2001 and 2013, the gap only narrowed by two percentage points, from 76.3 to 78.3, according to IWPR’s Status of Women in the States 2015 report. At this rate, it won’t completely close until 2058.
Through the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s women began catching up to men on education and work experience, says Hartmann. Today, women have about the same workforce experience and are, on average, more education than men. However, they are still paid less.
“There’s been a lot of catch-up, and once that rapid catch-up stops you have to look at the harder things to change,” she says. That includes “people’s attitudes about how much women should be making and the practices for setting pay.”

4. Five States received an “F” grade on women’s equality
Gender equality across the U.S. is anything but equal. The Status of Women in 2015 looked across all 50 states to determine the best and worst states for women. Considerations included job opportunities, overall health of women, and childcare options. Top honors went to Minnesota, followed by a tie betwen Connecticut and Massachusetts. Five states received failing “F” grades: West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Idaho.
“Not in all the indicators, but on most of the indicators the south certainly does less well than the north,” said Hartmann, adding that southern states ranked relatively low in all categories except for access to childcare.

5. Real change takes time.
“It seems to be a slow process, but we’ve definitely been moving in the direction of greater equality at all levels,” said Kim Parker, the director of social trends research at the Pew Research Center. Parker adds that unlike the fight for the right to vote, which was legislated with the stroke of a pen, today’s gaps in equality can’t be mandated, and won’t change over night. “It’s more subtle things and societal factors that really take time to change.”

We should celebrate the anniversary of women getting the right to vote, but there’s still work to be done.

Philips Smart Light Bulb

Philips Smart Light Bulb
Philips Smart Light Bulb

The Philips Hue product line is great, but it’s also very expensive with some starter kits costing $200. If you really want to be able to control multiple light bulbs at a time, Philips has something new for you — a $40 wireless dimming kit. In order to bring the price down, Philips had to remove a bunch of features, starting with the ability to control your lights from your phone.

Here’s how it works: The new dimming kit comes with one light bulb and a new wireless switch. This switch couldn’t be simpler. It has two big on and off buttons, and two buttons to adjust the brightness of your lightbulbs. It comes with a battery, and you can just stick to your wall without having to wire it or replace your existing switch. It’s a great way to try smart light bulbs if you are just renting your apartment.

But this switch only makes sense if you use it with multiple lights, letting you control all the lights in your room from one switch. So you’ll actually have to spend $20 for each extra Hue Lux light bulb. See more how to test the Lux from Lux Meter.

Finally, the new wireless switch doesn’t come with the Hue bridge, meaning that you can use it without having to plug a tiny bridge to your router. But there are a few downsides. It means that the switch only communicates with your lights — it doesn’t connect to your Wi-Fi network. You won’t be able to control your lights from your phone or computer. You can also forget about IFTTT integration.

And this switch won’t let you control the color of your lights as there isn’t any dedicated button to change the color — it is made for the less expensive Lux light bulbs. The only thing you can control is how bright they are, which, to be fair, is probably my main use case for my Hue installation. You can measure by LUX Meter for sure.

What if you want to go to the next level? The company says that you will be able to connect the switch with a Hue bridge. And it will turn your existing Hue lights into full-fledged Hue lights with smartphone control, IFTTT compatibility and more.

The dimming kit competes with less expensive GE Link and Belkin WeMo ecosystems. But the company probably wants you to start with this inexpensive kit before buying a bridge and switching to a more powerful setup.

Kristen Taekman : A cheat AND a liar

Kristen Taekman : A cheat AND a liar
Kristen Taekman : A cheat AND a liar

The husband of Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman told a series of lies when he was confronted about being on Ashley Madison by Daily Mail Online.

Josh Taekman claimed he didn't 'understand', that there was 'not a shot in hell' he was on it, that any suggestion he was a member was 'f***ing bananas' and that somebody must have used his card 'fraudulently'.

But hours after Daily Mail Online revealing his use of the infidelity website, he semi-backtracked and issued a statement admitting to being a member - but still did not tell the whole truth.

'I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family. We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives.'

In fact, he had not just signed up - he paid to access the site 62 separate times, spending a total of more than $1,500.

Daily Mail Online can reveal that his membership spanned three years.
The 46-year-old businessman who has been married to former model Kristin, 38, for more than ten years first logged onto the cheaters' website on June 29 2011 - when his wife was newly pregnant with their second child.

There is then a gap in his activity until May 2012, when their second child, daughter Kingsley, now 3 was around five months old.

The couple also have a six year old son, Cassius, known as Cash.
Taekman then used the site on multiple occasions every single month between May 2012 and June 2014. He even logged on twice the day after Christmas 2013.
Each transaction represents a payment made, ranging from $19.99 to $79, allowing Taekman to send emails to other Ashley Madison members.

Ashley Madison which operates under the tagline ,'Life is short. Have an affair,' is accessible for free but users must buy credits to send messaged: $49 gets 100 credits while $250 earns, 1000 credits and a money-back guarantee if you don't have an affair within three months.

The address shown in the leaked credit card records is the address in Tribeca, New York, of the two bedroom rental where the couple live and where scenes of the show were filmed.
The email address used in the profile – Jteezy012@gmail.com – is close to the Twitter handle used by Taeken, @JTeezy012.

Taekman was a prolific user with 62 separate transactions between June 2011 and June 2014 when his activity abruptly stops, shortly after the couple's debut on RHONY and as his public profile, and scrutiny of the couple's marriage, rose.

Viewers of RHONY became used to witnessing Taekman and Kristen's bickering and his apparently casual cruelty to her. Kristen felt forced to defend her husband from detractors admitting in an interview with OK! last year: 'After every episode, viewers would go on Twitter and tell me to divorce my husband….I am really bummed at how he was portrayed.
'People are calling him a d***** bag. He is not a d***** bag. The show made him seem much harsher than he really is.'

But speaking at the time she added: 'I'm not taking all the blame for our relationship issues. There is definitely stuff that Josh needs to work on too…Marriage is really hard. It drains you. But that is reality. Reality is not five nannies and two housekeepers. Josh and I are normal people with not normal careers. What you see on screen is who we are.'
And what was seen on screen was a frequently strained relationship – so much so that the couple had 'long discussions' before agreeing to appear on another seaons of the hit Bravo show.

According to reports at the time: 'There was a lot of added strain in the marriage after the season aired so Kristen agreed not to allow cameras as much access to them as a couple.'
Taekman met Kristen when he was working as Vice President of Marketing for P Diddy's Bad Boy Entertainment label. During the label's peak he handled the careers of artists like Faith Evans, 112, Loon, Danity Kane and countless others.

That is the same period they met fellow New York Housewife Heather Thompson, who also used to work for Bad Boy.

When the label was bought by Atlantic in 2005, California-born Taekman left to launch his own business, Vitalize Labs, which produces the energy drinks and supplements EBOOST popular among celebrities like Jillian Michaels, Bruce Willis and Kelly Ripa.

The couple married when Kristen was 25 and lived in California before moving to New York.
Their appearance on the show has alluded to their sex lives. In her debut series, Kristen spoke of refusing her husband sex until he had a vasectomy, and also a 'barter system' involving sex acts. She responded to a gift of earrings by saying she would perform a sex act on him 'for sure'.

Josh responded: 'Should have got you two pairs.'
She was also reported to have written in a blog: 'We have many jokes and one is the **** *** joke. You will hear it a lot. . .Sorry.

'After being together so long, when your husband gives you diamond earrings isn't that code that you have to give him a **? TMI, I know. Sorry.

Caitlyn Jenner Costume Sparks Outrage Online

Caitlyn Jenner Costume Sparks Outrage Online
Caitlyn Jenner Costume Sparks Outrage Online

It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marketing at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

The retailer offers several celebrity costumes including Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, KISS band members and Marilyn Monroe.

Despite the company's stated intentions, transgender activists are lashing out.

"Do not turn Cailtyn (sic) Jenner into a costume. Your profit will only lead to greater transphobia and marginalization of an already at-risk community," wrote Addison Vincent, the creator of a Change.org petition asking Spirit Halloween to discontinue sales of the costume.

Another signer wrote, "I'm signing because this costume mocks the validity of a transgender's identity, implying a man wearing a dress is the same as a person dressing to their comfort and identity."

Other retailers, including WholesaleCostumes.com and AnytimeCostumes.com, also carry the Caitlyn costume; they did not return calls for comment.
Jenner's representatives did not immediately return request for comment.

Ben Higgins : 7 things from him

Ben Higgins : 7 things from him
Ben Higgins : 7 things from him
Oh, Ben H. When he first stepped out of the limo on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette, he was but one of two very attractive men with the name Ben. Over time, he’d later progress into the super sweet, super attractive Ben who had a terrible fear that he was “unlovable.”

But now, he has another chance to find love as the next Bachelor, so we’ve rounded up a couple of things we can more than likely expect:

1. Sweaters. Ben loves sweaters. It’s just a fact.

2. Cheesy toasts. At times, Ben can be a bit too serious, so hopefully his season won’t drift from sincere to dull. Regardless, viewers can expect Ben to make a number of toasts, some of which will be sweet, but most of which might make you cringe just a bit. But hey, his heart’s in the right place.

3. Chivalry. Ben’s a gentleman. Get used to it.

4. Comments about his age. Yes, he just turned 26. Yes, there will probably be multiple “older women” vying for his love. (And he’ll probably pick the young hot one.)

5. Direct yet sincere confrontations. Ben is not a pushover, and he proved that with his time on The Bachelorette. But he’s also not rude, so if something is bothering him, he will bring it up, but he’ll do so in a totally non-threatening way.

6. No sex in the fantasy suite? We can’t be positive that he and Kaitlyn didn’t sleep together, but Ben did make a point that the physical aspect of a relationship doesn’t come first for him. So here’s to hoping we don’t have to listen to any awkward breathing noises during his season.

7. Potentially the next Sean Lowe. Listen, Ben being such a great guy has its pros and cons. On the one hand, there’s a chance things could get boring. But there’s also the chance that he could become the next Sean Lowe, who went into his season as the good guy and came out of it as one of the most beloved Bachelors in history.

Celine Dion : " Rene Angelil die in my arms"

Celine Dion : " Rene Angelil die in my arms"
Celine Dion : " Rene Angelil die in my arms"
Singer Celine Dion said during a heartbreaking interview with USA Today that her husband Rene Angelil wants to die in her arms.

Angelil, 73, has throat cancer and has been fed intravenously for two years. He lives in the family's Las Vegas home, though he spent time receiving treatment in Boston hospitals.
Still, Dion's family does not know when Angelil will die.

"We have asked (doctors) many times, how long does he have, three weeks, three months? Rene wants to know," she said. "But they say they don't know."

Dion, 47, said her husband has already planned the details of his death and funeral. "I'll say, 'You're scared? I understand. Talk to me about it,' " Dion told USA Today. "And René says to me, 'I want to die in your arms.' OK, fine, I'll be there, you'll die in my arms."

Dion said that her eldest son with Angelil, who she met at the age of 12 and married in 1994, has a hard time seeing his father in his ill state. But the couple's two 4-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy, have no memory of their father as healthy, so they do not mind accompanying their mother to feed Angelil.

In spite of the massive heartache that comes with seeing the love of her life die, Dion is trying to power forward and return to the stage -- she said it's what Angelil wants of her.
She will return to Las Vegas to perform on Aug. 27. Her husband insisted that she return to the stage.

"When you see someone who is fighting so hard, it has a big impact on you," she says. "You have two choices. You look at your husband who's very sick and you can't help, and it kills you. Or you look at your husband that's sick and you say, 'I got you. I got it. I'm here. It's going to be just fine.'"

She said she's not sure if Angelil will be able to attend her show's debut Thursday, but if not, he will watch a live feed at home. She said she wants to show her husband that she can be strong for him.

One Direction : 5th Album

One Direction : 5th Album
One Direction :  5th Album

Prepare yourselves, Directioners. The four remaining boys of One Direction will reportedly not be going on tour to support their fifth album and will be taking a break for at least a year to pursue other opportunities. OMG!

In the next year, we might be seeing a lot less of One Direction. Harry Styles, 21, Louis Tomlinson, 23, Liam Payne, 21, and Niall Horan, 21, have agreed to take an “extended hiatus of at least a year” after their next album is released, according to a shocking new report. They will reportedly not be embarking on another world tour. Is this the end of One Direction? Find out now!

“The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband,” a source told The Sun. “They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 per cent behind the decision.”

The boys reportedly decided they wouldn’t be launching another tour last weekend in London. They have been performing non-stop since starting their “On The Road Again” world tour and have admitted that they were ready for a break. However, does this extended break mean the band is dismantling for good?

It’s been a pretty hectic year for the boys, who recently released the music video for their new song “Drag Me Down.” Zayn Malik, 22, who used to be one-fifth of the band, left the group in March 2015 to start his solo career. It was tough to lose Zayn, but their impending break had nothing to do with him.

“This was the plan with or without Zayn,” the source said. “In fact, the band have been making amazing music and been incredibly happy without Zayn. Of course they would have preferred that he had stayed in the band, but they would have taken this extended hiatus even if he hadn’t left.”

Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall will come together at the beginning of 2016 to do promotional work for their highly-anticipated fifth album, the report claims. After they have finishing promoting the album, the boys will be “free agents for the first time in five years.”

While we are very sad about this, the boys are only doing what is best for them. They should be able to pursue other endeavors and live their lives how they want to. Louis is expecting his first child in early 2016, so that is definitely something to look forward to. One Direction’s last concert together before their reported break will be in Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England on Oct. 31.

HollywoodLifers, are you sad One Direction is taking a break? Do you think they should have gone on tour for their fifth album? Let us know!

Immortus solar sports car

Immortus solar sports car
Immortus solar sports car

If you’ve ever scanned the comments section on an electric car or bike article, you’ll be familiar with this complaint: "that’s not green, it’s just a coal-powered vehicle." Well, not this one. The Immortus is an electric car built to generate its own power through some 7 sq m (75 sq ft) of solar photovoltaic paneling. You can charge its battery off the mains(Solar Cell Charger) if you have to, but if conditions are sunny, the inbuilt solar panels alone will let you drive at more than 60 km/h (37 mph) for an unlimited distance.

The Immortus is based on solar race car technology with the project originally founded by Australia’s Aurora Solar Car Team, which has competed in a bunch of solar race events across the world. Hence the light weight and the shape of the Immortus, which combines maximal sun exposure with extreme aerodynamics , including covered wheels (measure by fine Vernier Caliper).

Unlike the solar racers, though, it’s designed to approach practicality on the road, with a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time that will be less than seven seconds and a top speed over 150 km/h (93 mph). It's also a two-seater with a modest luggage capacity for daily driving. Melbourne-based EVX Ventures, creators of the Immortus, even list fun as a priority, saying it should handle like a well-balanced sports car.

Squeezing unlimited range from solar energy

Where the Tesla Model S has a massive 85 kWh battery pack, the self-replenishing system on the Immortus uses only a 10 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery. The car uses twin DC motors mounted on the uprights leading to each rear wheel hub, each with a peak output of 20 kW, for a total peak output of 40 kW (53.6 hp). While 40 kW doesn’t sound like much, the entire car has been designed to make the most of its power. A feather-light weight of around 550 kg (1,212 lb) gives the Immortus a power-to-weight ratio and acceleration time similar to a Mazda MX5 (aka Miata), and the weight distribution is designed to offer similarly sporty handling characteristics.

The Mazda will out-corner it though, because the Immortus won’t use regular road tires. It’ll use tires specifically designed for solar racers, very thin wheels with low-friction tires that prioritize low rolling resistance over grip. These aren’t the most attractive wheels, but then, they’re hidden away behind the aerodynamic wheel arch covers anyway. And thanks to exceptionally low weight, low-drag aerodynamics and low-friction, low-contact tires, EVX expects the car’s small 10 kWh battery pack to be good for just under 400 km (248 mi) worth of range even at night, when there’s no solar assistance topping it up. When the sun’s out and the road’s clear, that range goes up, effectively to infinity if you stay around 60 km/h (37 mph). Upping the pace to 85 km/h (53 mph) the range drops to about 550 km (342 mi).

Distributed manufacturing – every car a custom

Ease of construction is key for the Immortus team, because they don’t plan to mass-produce the car, or even to build it in-house.
"We’re not trying to be a Tesla," says Barry Nguyen, CEO and co-founder of EVX Ventures. "Tesla is a mass manufacturer of cars, we’re designers of boutique custom electric cars and aftermarket products. There’s regulations in the US and Australia that allow for individually constructed vehicles. Essentially what that means is that if you contract a custom car builder with the designs and components, you can build a road legal car without the crash testing and the 5-10 million dollars you’d have to raise to do that. We plan to sell those cars in low volume."

Thus, the Immortus has been designed to be exceptionally simple to assemble. Abandoning early concepts that used a carbon-fibre monocoque frame with two large tubs, the most recent design features an ultra-lightweight space frame using off-the-shelf carbon fiber tubing, with 3D-printed nodes to connect the tubes. The frame of the car is effectively like a big Meccano set.

"This simplifies the manufacturing process, as well as reducing transport costs," says technical lead Clint Steele. "The plan is to have these cars assembled by custom car builders close to wherever the customer is. The custom shops can source their own carbon fiber tubing, and we can either send over the 3D-printed node parts or send over the designs so they can print them locally."

EVX doesn’t expect to sell more than 100 of the Immortus. At an estimated AUD$500,000 (approx. US$370,000) depending on spec, it’s a boutique, high priced technology platform that will only appeal to extremely wealthy early adopters. But the ideas developed through the Immortus project are filtering out into a range of other projects that are much more consumer focused. EVX is looking to raise about US$1.5 million dollars to get the Immortus production ready, and will be taking a scaled-down, remote control version of the Immortus to SEMA in Las Vegas later in the year.

Either way, early as it is, the Immortus, along with the Stella Lux prototype from the Netherlands, paves the way for a new category of vehicle, one that’s all but energy independent. An electric car in which you rarely, if ever, have to think about where the next charge point is. A high-end, high tech sportscar you won’t want to keep in your garage, because it can’t get any sun in there. And as battery technology and photovoltaic efficiency continue to improve, these kinds of cars could become a lot more viable.

Google WiFi router

Google WiFi router
Google  WiFi router

Google announced its own branded wireless router (made by TP-LINK), which it says “is a new way to Wi-Fi.” But what does this mean? And doesn’t $199.99 seem expensive for a Wi-Fi router? Perhaps not. Although OnHub won’t be available for purchase until August 31, let’s see what a closer look at its specifications reveals about it today.

The OnHub has 13 antennas — six 2.4GHz antennas, six 5GHz antennas, and a congestion-sensing antenna — arranged in a circle. The OnHub monitors the Wi-Fi environment and automatically adjusts its settings to provide an optimal experience, let's connect it with your device via USB WiFi  .

Since it doesn’t have the usual front panel of  indicators, you will need an Android phone or Apple iPhone with Google’s OnHub app to manage the router. However, these apps let you do things like assign bandwidth priority to a specific device. This would let me, for example, make sure that the computer I’m using to record a podcast over Skype gets the bandwidth it needs, even if someone in my family is watching Netflix.

In addition to Wi-Fi, the OnHub also has Bluetooth 4.0 and 801.15.4 (ZigBee/Thread). You are probably are famliar with Bluetooth as a way to communicate with wireless devices like headphones, keyboards,WiFi PC and mice.

But Bluetooth 4.0 also supports Bluetooth Low Energy, which lets it communicate with sensors and activity trackers like the Fitbit without expending much power. 801.15.4 is an IEEE low data rate and low power Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) standard that allows a variety of devices to communicate with each other — in other words, the Internet of Things (IoT).

Neither of these radios are active in OnHub at launch according to Google. But the company advises us to “…stay tuned. We have exciting things in the works.”
And while the OnHub lacks the usual front panel of high-end consumer routers, it does have six tri-color LED arrays, which Google says is a dimmable light ring that provides feedback.

Also of note: The OnHub has one USB  3.0 port and a 3-watt speaker. Yes, that grill on the top is an audio speaker. And the OnHub does have a passing resemblance to Amazon’s well-received Echo voice activated Internet connected speaker, although OnHub doesn’t include a microphone in its specifications. However, it is easy to imagine getting Google Now-type audio responses to questions posed to a smartphone or some other connected device in the home.

So, is Google’s OnHub worth $199.99? At this point, you would be buying a potentially useful connected device hub for your home or small office. But, we won’t know what that potential is until Google turns on the Bluetooth 4.0 and 801.15.4 radios and reveals what the USB port and speaker do. Still, I’m somewhat tempted to buy one just to get a front-row seat to Google’s introduction of its IoT lineup.

LaLa & Carmelo Anthony

LaLa & Carmelo Anthony
LaLa & Carmelo Anthony
American radio and television personality LaLa Anthony doesn’t seem bothered by rumors she cheated on her husband, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. The star took to her Instagam page Wednesday to write a message about “haters” after she was accused of having an affair with Brooklyn rapper Maino. The accusation came from Patrice E, a woman who claims to be his girlfriend, Bossip noted.

“If you ain’t got no haters, you ain’t popping,” LaLa, 32, wrote after a dinner date with actors Poppy Montgomery and Kathy Najimy. The post received nearly 16,000 likes from her 3.5 million followers.

The photo shows Montgomery and Najimy wearing shirts that say “got haters?” Commenters had plenty to say about the post, which garnered more than 500 responses. Some people said things like, “I can’t believe you cheated” and others simply asked if she had an affair. Many people also tagged Patrice.

The drama unraveled when Patrice left a now-deleted comment under one of LaLa’s Instagram pictures. Fortunately, Bossip took a screenshot of her message before it was removed.

Her remark of was full of curses: “@lala does you husband know that your hoe ass has been f------ my daughter’s father. That you slept over his house the other night after the movies. A man that is with me and his family every damn night. How does it feel to be the slut responsible for his daughter never waking up to her father ever again!” But Patrice wasn’t done there. “[You’re] a disgrace to women everywhere,” she wrote. “Typical married slut.”

Fans are taking sides, and it seems like many people believe the rumor. LaLa’s name became a top-trending Twitter topic Thursday as people discussed whether she actually cheated.

While LaLa gave a cryptic response to the allegation, Carmelo Anthony, 31, has not issued a statement about the reputed infidelity.

Kelly Clarkson & Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson & Brandon Blackstock
Kelly Clarkson & Brandon Blackstock
On Wednesday night, Kelly Clarkson announced to her Los Angeles audience that she’s expecting her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock.

The 33-year-old singer has already had so many adorable moments with her stepchildren Seth and Savannah and daughter River Rose, 14 months, that we can’t wait to see what squeal-worthy moments the new addition will inspire.

To celebrate the news that she is expecting, we rounded up some of Clarkson’s most adorable mom moments.

Warm-up with River Rose
Clarkson and her vocal team warmed up for a London show in the sweetest way ever. The trio recruited baby River to supervise their round of Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song,” resulting in a can’t-miss Instagram video.

And that wasn’t the only time River helped out with her mom’s Piece by Piece album. Clarkson teased the release of “Heartbeat Song” with a video of her daughter rocking out to the tune.

Inspired Stepmom
In her PEOPLE cover story, Clarkson revealed that her husband’s kids fed her desire to grow the family even more.

“Seth and Savannah made me want to have a baby. I didn’t realize how much I would love [being a mom]. I love going to games, I love the homework,” she said. “I love the challenge of helping mold someone’s life.”

“We focus on the fact that they have [more] parents who love them,” the singer said of her blended family.

Wedding Waterworks
Also in her cover story, Clarkson recounted an emotional, yet cute, moment from her October 2013 wedding.

The bride’s stepson Seth took notice when she was surprised by waterworks during the Tennessee nuptials.

“During the ceremony, Seth looked up and was like, ‘What’s wrong with her?’ ” Clarkson recalled. “I was like, ‘I’m just so happy!’ ”

Prioritizing Parenting
Clarkson told PEOPLE about her motherhood goals, and the singer definitely has her priorities in order.

“I’ve accomplished a lot, but I guess the biggest success I want is that whenever I die, people will say, ‘She was so successful as a mother, and as a wife.’ That’s kind of my big goal,” she said in March.

In April, she added that she’ll measure her success as a mom by her kids’ attitudes and abilities.

“I’m like, ‘How can she learn faster?’ You just want to help them put their best foot forward and give them as many opportunities as you can — and make sure you don’t raise a brat. That is our goal,” she said.

Making Time for Romance
The American Idol alum knows that a successful family makes time to foster all kinds of love, and that means setting aside nights to bond with her husband.

“We love being in Seth, Savannah and River’s lives and having our own stuff as well,” Clarkson told PEOPLE .

“As a couple, we think that date nights are important. We are both from broken homes, and as a result, you may not take time for yourselves as a couple. So we love our date nights.”
But Clarkson and her crew have plenty of adorable family time as well, whether it’s family game nightholiday decoratingmuseum trips, or taking the kids to meet their idols.
